Jim the Axolotl Steals Back His Treasure

Jim steals back his treasure that was stolen from him for some reason.

This plays in browser, so just click on the game window in the page and then start playing!

But wait, there's more! The game also comes with a ".gb" rom, so you can play it in any Gameboy emulator! How neat!

⌨️KEYBOARD CONTROLS ⌨️:

Z/J (or "A") to jump, the arrow keys or WASD to move left, right, and down. You can hold X/K (or "B") to run as well, if you hate going slow.

📱MOBILE CONTROLS📱 and 🎮CONTROLLER CONTROLS🎮 :

I don't know. I haven't really tested either option, but controller definitely works, and I'm pretty sure mobile does also. So, if you are really dead set on playing with a controller or on mobile, there is always the option to, I guess.

This game was made for the Pixel Game Jam 2024, hosted by San Forge Studio.

The game was made in GB Studio, an open source drag and drop game engine that lets you make Gameboy games.

The music is from the GB Studio Community Assets Github.

The pixel art was made in Piskel.

Axolotls are from nature (lol).

I probably could have done a lot of things better. I wanted to add coins, WAY more levels, a better boss fight, etc. But this is one of my first game jams (or one of the first that I actually finished lol), so even just checking out this game means a lot to me.
